Biography
 
Myrtle was the daughter of Alfred Single Rains (1868-1951) and Johannah Carroll (1873-1924). She was born on 27 January 1891 in Prospect. At the age of nineteen, Myrtle married Archie Blackmore (1884-1972). Myrtle and Archie retired to Launceston, Tasmania, in the 1940s.
