Mary was the daughter of John Yeatman (1747-1821) and Jenny Skivington (1754-1828). She was baptised on 5 April 1778 within the parish of Shillingstone and probably in the Church of the Holy Rood. Mary married William Hatcher (1780-) by licence on 18 November 1801 at Shillingstone. They were in their early twenties and capable of signing their names.
