Mary was the daughter of Edward Woodsford (1698-1776) and Thomasin Hitchcock (1704-1784). Mary and Sebastian’s two eldest children, Amey and Sebastian, died within days of each other in 1761. This is suggestive of an infectious illness and must have devastated the couple.
