In the Name God, Amen

This is the Last will and Teastament of Edward Woodsford of the Parish of Tollerporum in the County of Dorset yeoman,

first I give and Devise my freehold Estate Which my Son James Woodsford now occupies being a house and Orchard Called or known by the Name of Dimonds Dale Situate Lying and Being in the parish of Tollerpercorum aforesaid; to hold unto him the said James Woodsford his Hiers and assigns for ever;

Allso I Give and Devise two Closes of Meadow Called Woodhays and Heathfield and one other Close of Meadow called fernehay Situate in Toller aforesaid unto my Son James Woodsford by him freely to be Possessed and enjoyed

During the Estate and Interest therein he the said James Woodsford Paying such Annuities as herein after Mentioned (that is to say) unto my Daughter Susannah Beer the Sum of three pounds per year from and after eight years expired next after my Decease So Long as She Live if the Estate and Intrest So Long Continue and also to my Daughter Tamson Short the Like Sum of three pounds per year During her Life from and after the expiration of eight years as aforesaid, Allso I give and Bequeath to my Beloved wife Tamson Woodsford the Sum of Twelve pounds per year to be paid by my Executor herein after Named as Long as She the said Tamson Woodsford doth Live — and allso My Will and Desire is for my wife to have the Hall end of the House which I now Live in and all the furniture of the Said house for her use and to her Disposal and also Convienant firing for her use and long as She my Said wife thinks propper to Live in the Said hall end of the House and no Longer —
Allso I give and Bequeath to my Daughters Mary Pitfield Joannah Hawker Rebeckah Parmiter and Jenny Crofts to each and every of them the Sum of three pounds per year to be paid by my Executor — herein after named from and after the expireation of eight years next after my Deceace But if my Said wife Tamson Woodsford Should Live More then eight years after my Deceace my Said Daughters Mary Joannah Rebeckah and Jenny Not to be paid there Annuities till from and after their Said Mothers Deceace and from — thence so Long as they Live if the Estate and Intrest So Long Continues all the rest Risidue and Remainder of my Estates Goods and Chattles Money and all that is mine I give to my Son William Woodsford whome I constitute and appoint Sole Executor of this my Will Revoking all former wills by me at any time before made In wittness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Six

Signed, Sealed, Published, Declared and Pronounced by the Said Edward Woodsford as his Last will and Teastament in the Presence of us; who in his Presence and in the Presence of each other have hereto Subscribed our Names as Wittnesses

On the 29 Day of July 1776 the within written will of Edward Woodsford deceased was proved by the Oath of William Woodsford the within named Executor to whom Administration of all and singular the goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased was granted he being first duly sworn faithfully to administer the same to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory thereof into the Registry of the Archdeacon of Dorset and to tender a true and just Account thereon when lawfully required.
